Water Damage Restoration Process
Emergency Response and Damage Assessment
The moment you call our emergency line, our dispatch team begins coordinating the nearest available technician for immediate deployment. Water damage does not wait for business hours, and neither do we. Our emergency water extraction crews are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an average response time of 45 minutes across the GTA.
On arrival, our certified technicians conduct a full property assessment using moisture meters, hygrometers, and infrared thermal imaging cameras to map the true extent of water intrusion, including moisture that has traveled behind walls, under flooring, or into ceiling cavities. This assessment determines the water category involved (clean, gray, or contaminated black water), the materials affected, and the safest, most efficient path forward. If the damage originated from a plumbing failure, our emergency plumber team is dispatched alongside our restoration crew to stop the source at the same time mitigation begins.

Water Extraction and Removal
Once the scope of the damage is understood, our team begins removing standing water using submersible pumps, truck mounted extraction units, and portable equipment sized to the affected area. Fast, thorough emergency water extraction is the single most important step in limiting how much water your property absorbs, since every hour standing water sits increases how deeply it soaks into subfloors, drywall, and framing.
This stage includes:
- Extraction of standing water from flooring, carpet, and subfloor materials
- Removal of debris, mud, or contaminants carried in by flooding
- Contaminated water handling and sewage cleanup protocols where Category 3 water is present
- Extraction from carpet and padding using specialized carpet drying and cleaning equipment where needed
- Continuous monitoring to confirm all standing water has been removed
Structural Drying and Dehumidification
With standing water removed, we move into full structural drying. Industrial air movers and high capacity dehumidifiers are positioned throughout the affected space to draw residual moisture out of framing, subfloors, drywall, and insulation. This stage typically takes 3 to 5 days and is verified with daily moisture readings, not guesswork, since mold can begin developing within 24 to 48 hours of water exposure if drying is incomplete.
This stage includes:
- Strategic placement of air movers and dehumidifiers based on material type and moisture level
- Daily moisture and humidity monitoring throughout the drying period
- Antimicrobial treatment to prevent mold and bacterial growth
- Odour removal treatment where lingering smells remain after drying
- Mold removal remediation if active growth is discovered during inspection
- Final verification that all materials have reached a safe, dry baseline before moving to repair
Restoration and Repair
The final stage returns your property to its pre loss condition. This may include drywall replacement, flooring repair, repainting, and structural repairs, coordinated directly by the same team that handled extraction and drying. We do not consider a project finished until your property looks and functions the way it did before the water damage occurred, and until you have signed off during a final walkthrough.
This stage includes:
- Drywall, flooring, and trim repair or replacement
- Structural repairs to framing or subflooring where needed
- Full flood restoration and reconstruction for more extensive damage
- Coordination with our renovation services team for larger rebuilds
- Final quality inspection and walkthrough with the property owner
- Complete documentation package for your insurance claim
